- 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped
- 1 cup white cheddar cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko for extra crunch)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)
- 4 burger buns
- Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, avocado, or your favorite condiments
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped spinach, and shredded white cheddar cheese.
- Add the breadcrumbs and grated Parmesan cheese to the bowl.
- Crack the egg into the mixture.
- Add the minced garlic, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce.
- Using your hands, mix everything together until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a patty, about 3/4 inch thick, making a slight indentation in the center of each patty.
- Refrigerate the patties for about 15-20 minutes to firm up.
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add the olive oil.
- Place the patties in the skillet, cooking in batches if necessary.
- Cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes.
- Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). If adding cheese, place a slice on each burger during the last minute of cooking and cover to melt.
- Toast the burger buns until golden brown.
- Spread your favorite condiments on the bottom half of each bun.
- Place the cooked burger patty on top, add any additional toppings, and cover with the top half of the bun.
