Ingredients
- Steak (ribeye, sirloin, filet mignon, flank, or skirt steak)
- Fresh garlic
- Heavy cream
- Beef broth
- Unsalted butter
- Salt
- Pepper
- Thyme (optional)
- Rosemary (optional)
Instructions
- Take your steak out of the fridge about 30 minutes before cooking to let it come to room temperature.
- Generously season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of butter over medium-high heat until it’s sizzling but not burning.
- Add the steak to the pan and sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or adjust the time to your preferred doneness.
- Once cooked, transfer the steak to a plate, cover it loosely with foil, and let it rest for at least 5-10 minutes.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat and add another tablespoon of butter. Once melted, add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and beef broth, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for about 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened. Season with salt, pepper, and any additional herbs you enjoy.
- Slice the steak against the grain, drizzle with the creamy garlic sauce, and garnish with fresh herbs if desired.
