Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter (2 sticks)
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup hot fudge sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the unsalted butter in a large mixing bowl using the microwave or stovetop, then let it cool slightly.
- Add the granulated sugar to the melted butter and whisk until smooth and creamy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Crack in the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition, and add the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture using a spatula, being careful not to overmix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Prepare a 9×13 inch baking dish by greasing it with butter or cooking spray, and optionally lining it with parchment paper.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread the hot fudge sauce evenly over the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick (it should come out with a few moist crumbs).
- Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
- Lift the brownies out using the parchment paper overhang and place them on a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut into squares (about 2 inches by 2 inches).
- Optionally, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
- Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and drizzle with more hot fudge sauce for an extra treat!
