Savor the flavors of Honey Garlic Steak Rotini, featuring marinated flank steak in a sweet and savory sauce, tossed with al dente rotini and fresh vegetables. This quick and delicious dish is perfect for any occasion!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of flank steak
  • 8 ounces of rotini pasta
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon of red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • 1 cup of broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup of sliced bell peppers (any color)
  • 1/4 cup of chopped green onions (for garnish)
  • Sesame seeds (for garnish, optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, olive oil, black pepper, salt, and red pepper flakes (if using). Whisk until well blended.
  2. Place flank steak in a resealable plastic bag or shallow dish, pour marinade over it, ensuring it is well coated. Seal or cover and marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (2-4 hours recommended, overnight for best results).
  3. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Stir occasionally.
  4. About 2 minutes before pasta is done, add broccoli florets and sliced bell peppers to the pot. Drain and set aside (do not rinse).
  5. Remove steak from the refrigerator and let it sit at room temperature for 15 minutes.
  6. Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add marinated steak and cook for 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare (internal temperature should be 130°F).
  7. Remove steak from the pan and let it rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Slice the steak against the grain into thin strips and set aside.
  9. In the same skillet, pour in the remaining marinade and bring to a simmer over medium heat, scraping up browned bits from the pan. Simmer for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
  10. Add drained rotini, broccoli, and bell peppers back into the skillet with the sauce. Toss until well coated.
  11. Gently fold in sliced steak and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  12. Transfer the honey garlic steak rotini to a serving bowl or plates. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Feel free to substitute the vegetables with your favorites or what you have on hand.
