  • Author: Lana

Description

These Honey Garlic Butter Carrots are a sweet and savory side dish featuring tender carrots coated in a rich garlic butter sauce. Quick to prepare and perfect for any meal, they offer a delightful crunch and a burst of flavor that will impress your guests.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of baby carrots (or regular carrots, peeled and cut into sticks)
  • 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons of honey
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Wash the baby carrots thoroughly under cold running water. If using regular carrots, peel and cut them into sticks about 2-3 inches long. Set aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic. Pour in the honey and stir well to combine. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  3. In a large skillet, add the prepared carrots and pour the honey garlic butter sauce over them, ensuring they are evenly coated. Turn the heat to medium-high and cover the skillet with a lid. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally. Check for doneness; the carrots should be tender but still have a slight crunch. If needed, cover and cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  4. Once cooked to your liking, remove the skillet from heat. Optionally, drizzle a bit more honey over the top. Transfer the carrots to a serving dish and sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley for garnish. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

  • For added heat, consider adding a pinch of red pepper flakes when sautéing the garlic.
  • Maple syrup can be used as a substitute for honey for a unique flavor twist.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini, adjusting cooking times as necessary.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat before serving.
  • This recipe is easily scalable for larger gatherings.
