- 1/4 cup Dried Hibiscus Flowers (or 4–5 Hibiscus Tea Bags)
- 4 cups Filtered Water
- 2 cups Fresh Strawberries, hulled and quartered
- 1/2 cup Granulated Sugar (or Sweetener of Choice)
- 3–4 Fresh Lemons, juiced (about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of lemon juice)
- Additional Filtered Water for dilution
- Ice for serving
- Fresh lemon slices for garnish
- Whole strawberries for garnish
- Fresh mint or basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Brew the Hibiscus Tea: Place dried hibiscus flowers or tea bags in a heatproof pitcher. Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a rolling boil and pour it over the hibiscus. Let it steep for 10-15 minutes, then strain and set aside to cool.
- Prepare the Strawberry Base: Hull and quarter the strawberries, then mash them in a bowl. Add granulated sugar and freshly squeezed lemon juice, stirring well until the sugar dissolves.
- Combine and Dilute: Once the hibiscus tea has cooled, combine it with the strawberry-lemon mixture in a large pitcher. Add 2-3 cups of cold filtered water to dilute to your desired strength and add ice.
- Taste and Adjust: Pour a small amount into a glass, taste, and adjust sweetness or tartness as needed.
- Serve and Garnish: Fill glasses with ice and pour in the refresher. Garnish with lemon slices, whole strawberries, and fresh herbs if desired.
