  • Author: Chef kiwi
  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a delightful creamy garlic butter chicken dish, featuring tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich garlic butter sauce with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese. This comforting meal pairs perfectly with rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta, making it a favorite for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
  3. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the butter. Allow it to melt, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  4. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
  5. Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
  6. Stir in the heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Mix well and let simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  7. Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed. Add more salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes for heat if desired.
  8. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and incorporated.
  9. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
  10. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.
  • Pair with steamed vegetables like broccoli or green beans for a balanced meal.
  • For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet, adding a splash of chicken broth or cream if needed.
