Description
Enjoy a delightful creamy garlic butter chicken dish, featuring tender chicken breasts simmered in a rich garlic butter sauce with Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese. This comforting meal pairs perfectly with rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta, making it a favorite for any occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels and season both sides generously with salt and pepper.
- In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and cover with aluminum foil to keep warm.
- In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the butter. Allow it to melt, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Cook for 3-4 minutes to reduce slightly.
- Stir in the heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Mix well and let simmer for an additional 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Taste the sauce and adjust seasoning if needed. Add more salt, pepper, or red pepper flakes for heat if desired.
- Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and incorporated.
- Return the cooked chicken to the skillet, spooning the sauce over the top. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes to absorb flavors.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
Notes
- Serve over rice, mashed potatoes, or pasta to soak up the delicious sauce.
- Pair with steamed vegetables like broccoli or green beans for a balanced meal.
- For leftovers, store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet, adding a splash of chicken broth or cream if needed.
