  • Author: yumrow
  • Total Time: 50 minutes
  • Yield: 4-6 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a delightful twist on a classic with this Chicken Cordon Bleu Stromboli, featuring tender chicken, savory ham, and melted Swiss cheese all wrapped in golden-brown pizza dough. It’s perfect for a cozy dinner or as a fun party appetizer!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound of boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup of cooked ham, diced
  • 1 cup of Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • 1 package of pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips, about 1/2 inch thick.
  3. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add chicken strips, season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes until no longer pink. Remove from heat and chop into small pieces.
  4. In a mixing bowl, combine chopped chicken, diced ham, and shredded Swiss cheese. Mix well and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. If using store-bought pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes. If making your own, roll it out to about 1/4 inch thick.
  6. Transfer the dough to a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Spread the chicken, ham, and cheese filling evenly over the dough, leaving about an inch of space around the edges.
  8. Roll the dough tightly from one long edge, tucking in the sides as you go to seal the filling inside.
  9. Pinch the seams to seal and tuck the ends under for a neat shape. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  10. Brush the top with the beaten egg and make a few diagonal slits on top for steam to escape.
  11. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and puffed up.
  12. Let cool for 5-10 minutes before slicing into thick pieces.
  13. Serve warm or at room temperature, garnished with fresh parsley.

Notes

  • Feel free to customize the filling with your favorite ingredients or spices.
  • Serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.
