  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

Enjoy a comforting and flavorful Cheesesteak Tortellini that combines tender cheese tortellini with juicy sirloin steak, sautéed onions, and bell peppers, all topped with melted provolone cheese. Perfect for a cozy dinner or a fun gathering!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (9 oz) cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb sirloin steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions (about 3-5 minutes) until they float to the top and are tender.
  3. Drain the tortellini in a colander, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
  4. In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.
  5. Add the thinly sliced sirloin steak, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 3-4 minutes until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Remove and cover with foil to keep warm.
  6. In the same skillet, add the sliced onion and green bell pepper. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until softened and slightly caramelized.
  7. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently.
  8. Return the cooked steak to the skillet, pour in the Worcestershire sauce, and mix everything together. Cook for another minute.
  9. Add the cooked tortellini to the skillet with the steak and vegetables. Toss gently to combine, adding reserved pasta water if needed.
  10. Sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese over the top, cover with a lid, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  11. Remove from heat and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese.
  12. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
  13. Serve hot, straight from the skillet. Enjoy with crusty bread to soak up the flavors.
  14. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat with a splash of water to keep moist.

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the cooking time of the steak based on your preferred doneness.
  • You can substitute the provolone cheese with mozzarella or your favorite cheese if desired.
