Description
This Cajun Garlic Steak with Creamy Rotini combines bold Cajun spices with rich, creamy pasta for a dish that tantalizes your taste buds. Perfect for family dinners or impressing guests, it’s a delightful harmony of flavors and textures.
Ingredients
- Ribeye steak (or sirloin or flank steak)
- Cajun seasoning (or homemade with paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, and oregano)
- Fresh garlic cloves (or garlic powder)
- Rotini pasta
- Heavy cream (or half-and-half or non-dairy cream)
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese (or pre-grated)
- Spinach or bell peppers (or other favorite vegetables)
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak: Start by patting the steak dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a nice sear. Rub the Cajun seasoning generously on both sides of the steak.
- Cook the Steak: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a drizzle of oil. Once hot, add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, depending on your preferred doneness. I like it medium-rare. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
- Cook the Rotini: While the steak is resting, bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Add the rotini and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet you used for the steak, lower the heat to medium and add a bit more oil if needed. Sauté minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer.
- Add Cheese: Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, allowing it to melt into the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
- Combine: Toss the cooked rotini in the creamy sauce until well-coated. If you’re adding vegetables, stir them in now to heat through.
- Slice and Serve: Slice the rested steak against the grain. Plate the creamy rotini and top it with the sliced steak. Garnish with more Parmesan and a sprinkle of Cajun seasoning if you like.

Keywords: Letting the steak rest is crucial for tenderness. Customize the heat by adding more cayenne or red pepper flakes. Get creative with your veggies! This dish can be prepped ahead of time.
